[TenTec] RX-366?

I really doubt there's anything sinister going on here, gang.

I suspect one of two things as being the core issue:

First:

Consider that the Orion's are no longer in production. So the remaining market for the RX-366 may be very small.

In that case, I'd venture that Ten-Tec has merely sold out of the existing stock, and that the decision makers feel that there isn't enough of a remaining potential market to warrant another production run.

Second:

There may be some technical changes being made to the Eagle receiver board(s) for the next production run of the Eagle. (Improved performance-related, or swappingno-longer-available part(s) for others, that sort of thing). Since the RX-366 is based on the Eagle receiver, these possible updates may mean that the RX-366 also needs similar updates. So, there may be a replacement coming out... or, again, if there's no longer believed to be enough of a market to warrant continued production of an updated board...

I'm sure we'll find out what's going on in due course.

Gents,

I bought an RX-366 on 11 Feb 2014 along with a Ten-Tec model 2001, 600 Hz
CW filter. I was not aware of the InRad filters when I ordered the parts
from Ten-Rec.

I received and installed the board and filter in my Orion II, and it is
working with just a few issues. I've discussed the issues and installation
with Ten-Tec service, and they are advising me to uninstall & reinstall the
boards (to make sure all contacts are seated properly), or to return the
Orion to them. I haven't done it yet, but I will try the
uninstall/reinstall option first, so that I don't have to take the rig out
of service.

And I did not notice until reading this thread, that Ten-Tec has removed
almost all mention of the RX-366 from their website. I had their sales page
bookmarked, and it now results in "page not found". So I would speculate
that they have likely sold-out of their stock.

Ten-Tec still has the RX-366 installation instructions posted on their
web at:

I'm considering getting RX-366 with a full set of filters. Which are the
better roofing filters: the InRad or the TT filters?

Also, I couldn't find any mention of the RX366 on the TT site. Did I miss a
memo?
