Without any doubt, the radio needs to go to Tentec to be repaired.
Whatever is at fault, to effect a proper repair, will require a high level
of knowledge regarding the Omni VI and the necessary test equipment to
complete the repair and do a proper alignment.
No the Omni VI does not require any RIT or XIT values for normal operation.
As to replacing it, do yourself a favor and keep one fine CW radio. I've
personally owned two of the Omni VI Plus radios and now own the Omni VII.
