In as much as the glass envelope contains a very high vacuum, as a safety 
precaution, most tube companies suggest handling with gloves in the event of 
breakage and subsequent implosion.

And one should always wash their hands after eating Southern Fried Chicken, 
Bar-B-Que pork and roasted 'possum.
