I'm using both used tubes and pulls pretty successfully. It's easy to 
run a Titan on a single tube at a fixed drive level that gives you 700W 
for the first tube you test, note the grid current, and compare to other 
tubes. Takes some time, but worth the difference in cost to new tubes.
