Monday morning, Brian:

I use the ACC-1 port for digital and it works fine with SINGNALINK , A
TIGERTRONICS PRODUCT.

There were a variety of AUDIO selections to choose, so it took me a couple
of hours to find the right ones doing tests with another ham.
Good luck and persevere.

Subject: [TenTec] OMNI VII and digital modes issue

Hello all,

I wonder if anyone has been through this before? I have successfully used
digital modes for some time with a Yaesu FT857D.

I have been trying a couple of different ways to get my OMNI VII to run
digital modes with no complete success so far.

I have tried a sound card interface (EASY DIGI) using a connection to the
ACC1 socket and it receives properly and displays signals on the waterfall.
Also it will KEY the rig to transmit but there is no audio
even though the computer is sending audio into the interface.
Also it would not read the VFO from this port (obviously) - so I tried also
connecting an RS232 serial signal from the 9 pin serial plug on the back of
the OMNI VII. Now I can read the VFO but still can;t transmit digital.

Now it will not key the rig on transmit. I tried using DTR instead of RTS to
see if that would help Neither one does it.

Oddly the waterfall stopped running in WSJT-X after doing some pretty poor
decoding (compared to what I am used to seeing) - it was showing
signals -however the display looks odd.

I have tried testing rig control and testing PTT in WSJT-X fr the OMNI 588
and both fail.
I am going through the manual to see what the settings should be for the
RS232 going into the OMNI VII. The odd thing is that I can now read the VFO
OK using SKCC logger so I now the interface works.

Best regards - Brian Carling, AF4K
