James, I think you confused one point.
When we said:

... AS I UNDERSTOOD IT, this was said about adding the INRAD roofing filter
to the OMNI VI. (SIX - not SEVEN).
Everything I have seen or read about the OM VII has always recommended the
roofing filter - BECAUSE AS YOU SAY, YOU NEED THEM!
