Hi Allen,
congrats on your Corsair! I have a Corsair 2 and the Triton's (540 and
544) and let me tell you, nothing beats the receive audio of the
Triton's!! I have 13 Ten Tec HF rigs incl. Orion and my all time
favourite are the Triton's, the Corsair comes 2nd. The old rigs are just
so nice to listen to, no digital artificial sound, very relaxing. Just
my view, enjoy your rigs, as you truly have some of the best on your
desk ;-))!
Regards from Australia

The TRITON may become my wee-hour, weak signal DX'er, and the Corsair my week-end, heavy traffic rig. The Corsair is fitted with the 8-pole 9MHz filter, and all three option filters, so I'm expecting it will do a credible job of coping with moderate to heavy QRM.

And, it's NB is far more effective than any of my so-called hi-tech rigs. I'm hoping the Corsair receiver is as quiet as the TRITON's, and that the NB works as well too. The NB on my TRITON drops an S9 powerline noise down to S3 without attenuating or distorting desired intelligible signals. It's one handicap is limited selectivity in heavy QRM conditions, but I'm past my era of "competitive" hamming and getting tangled up in toe-to-toe pursuit of rare DX.

The owner tells me that the NB doesn't appear to function, but I haven't yet received the Corsair, so haven't yet been able to check the NB effectiveness myself. Could this be an early production unit that didn't yet have a proper nb?
