I agree with Jim on this.

To ship an amp of this type with out removing the power transformer will 
likely find the buyer ends up with a damaged and bent chassis due to any 
impact stress placed from the transformer.   It only takes a drop of about 3 
ft during transportation to cause major structural damage.

In other words, one has just taken a nice piece of equpment and converted it 
into junk..
