Yes I have tried that on the Orion 565, not sure if the K3 supports such 
changes and yes I would concur that it does create a more 'analogue' 
sound. I did have a chance to listen to a friends TS990 recently and was 
impressed how 'analogue' that sounded.

A modern analogue Corsair radio should certainly have some market, but 
it needs the kind of differentiation that would make it worthwhile. 
Great audio is one but a lot of the other Ten-Tec elements need to be in 
the mix as well.
