As a moderator of several Yahoo Group lists, my experience is that OT
discussions usually die a short death. If they don't or if things get out
of control I use my moderator hammer.

I would hardly agree that this list is being "overwhelmed by OT posts."
The last one was over a month ago.
The best way to let any subject die, is to stop posting replies.
Anyone who is dissatisfied with the list, is welcome to leave of his own
volition.
