Yes agree.  But one mistake and the front end of the RX is shot.
The Ten-Tec mod that installs two jacks to the rear panel and runs this line
out (and back in), clearly warns not to use this as an RX ANT in,
connection.

Never-the-less, Bob and I have both done this, but we both used a protection
relay (just in case).

Also another down side is, it is bypassing the BPFs in an earlier stage.
Not the end of the day, but it would be better if the RX ANT first passes
through these filters before passing on the the RX's front end.  The
additional advantage is, the built-in protection relay would offer the
necessary protection.

It's not an issue at all as long as the receive antenna and transmit antenna
are not too close to each other.  I have several radios here that do this
exact thing.  But it all comes down to antenna separation.
