[TenTec] Eagle birdie

My Eagle is clear on 50.125 mhz. As you know, this is a calling frequency....conditions have been poor but once in awhile signals come out of nowhere. You may be hearing a weak and distant station. I'd wait and check again in a few hours.

Good luck, its a great transceiver. You'll like it. Simple, clean, very good front end. Portable. Quiet. I just worry about Tentec.

I would suggest verifying it really is in the rig and not from a nearby
source
(electronics, PC, etc). Not having the antenna hooked up may not do
it. Do
you have a Faraday Cage handy?
