I was thrilled to see the Maestro - there IS hope in the near term for
knobbed SDR's.

My dream is that manufacturers adopt a standard front panel interface spec,
allowing you to buy a radio back-end from one vendor and a front panel of
your choice from another vendor.  Little companies would sprout up
designing cool front panels, maybe even a retro Omni VI style front panel
to stick in front of your DDC/DUC backend radio.
