I'm a big fan of roundabouts but I fear that the two lane variety with
exits at each cardinal point (which we have in my area) are prone to
disaster.  Bearing in mind that roundabouts go counter clockwise in USA,
here's the scenario I see happening in my local roundabouts:

Cars entering at 6 o'clock can later exit from either lane at 12 o'clock.
Cars entering at 3 o'clock can later exit from outer lane at 9 o'clock.

Car #1 enters at 6 o'clock into the inner lane (heading for 12 o'clock
exit), and then car #2 enters at 3 o'clock into the outer lane (heading for
9 o'clock exit), next to car #1.  As car #1 moves to exit, crash bang boom.
