JUST TO CONFUSE THE RUSSIANS . . .
It really gets fun when using a "Navi" in cities you are unfamiliar with.
For instance, when you approach what used to be a 4-way intersection (is now a traffic circle) and need to turn LEFT . . .
Your Navi tells you "3rd RIGHT".
That took some getting used to.
BTW, most Europeans are clueless about how a 4-way stop works.
Simple Simon... to those of us who know.
But if you were never told and encounter one for the first time, just watching it doesn't seem to give any clue as to the rules for using it.
The rules are simple and any and everyone can use it, once they are informed how it works.
SAME SAME for the trafic circle.
People too lazy to inform themselves and prefer to reject progress and change, are part of the problem.
Local ordinances who implement these traffic circles without promoting its advantages (and how it works) to the public are a much larger part of the problem.
ALL OF THE ABOVE AND ALL BEFORE was based on "Traffic Circles 101" .
In some larger cities in Italy and France, they have huge traffic circles with 5 or more roads feeding into them and NOTHING in the middle of the circle. They are the size of two football fields, side by side, but round.
Traffic basically circulates counter clockwise in 3 to 5 lanes (or many more) but there are always several people taking short cuts straight through it all.
Believe it or not, there are very few accidents - apparently because people pay attention to their driving and to others around them.
I was OK with these in France but in Italy they left me baffeled.
Seems every Italian was driving with one arm out the window shaking his fist and the other hand honking the horn. I have now idea how they steer their cars! ;-)
PROOF: See Map of Paris France with "Concentric trafic circles" around the "Arc de Triomphe", having 11 streets feeding the inner circle and 18 streets (!) feeding the outer circle.

(Use the navigation arrow (bottom right) to navigate around 360 degrees. This was definitely not rush hour. During rus hour it is jam packed with traffic.)
(BTW, in the meantime they have blockaded the road through the middle of the Arc of Triumph, so you can't go straight across anymore. That made it much easier to navigate.)
And sure I love to talk Ten-Tec...
will also be glad when they give us something to talk about.

I never really understood, how someone can measure anything easily or calculate in 5/16th or in /32th??? A cm is a cm and it usually consists off 10 mm. A lot of older people here in this country do use the imperial system and everytime they talk to me in imperial measurements, I tell them "and now please in proper numbers", as I can't get my head around that stuff. Way too complicated and awkward. And yes, there are people who weigh themselves in Stones! So how is that then? I weigh about 95 Kg (which is way too
much) and that in stones would be 14.95993922. Maybe one could say 14 stones and a few pebbles ;-))!
And as for roundabouts, as they are called here in VK,they are very useful and also fairly easy to figure out! If I want lets say (we, driving on the wrong side),want to turn left at the first exit, I of course have to be in the left lane to do so, otherwise I would crash into someone, who might go straight, to take the second exit, if that makes sense. So it is not really rocket science,but especially here in VK, where you basically get your licence in a Cornflakes Box, you can experience interesting situation. But overall, I guess it is not a bad thing. And for a laugh, here in Melbourne, we have a hook turn!! If you want to turn right on certain streets, you have to wait on the far left, in the middle of the intersection and when when the road you want to enter gets a green light, then you are allowed to turn. Not being rude, but if I imagine you guys in the states have trouble with a round about, just imagine that!!! I'm sure there is videos of a "hook turn" on youtube.
And apart from all that, this here being a TenTec forum, I can't wait to see Ten Tec back up on top of Sherwood's list again and show all the doubters, that Ten Tec is alive and will be stronger than ever! I'm sure, we will see a proper new website soon, with lots of new stuff to come.
To Mike Dishop and the Ten Tec team, I have faith in you and I know you will show all the competitors once again how it is done!!!
And one other small thing, without being racist or stepping on people's toes, but knowing American's are all so patriotic, how is it, that soo many people over there use Japanese radio's and drive Japanese cars???
Never really understood that......
