[TenTec] Replace Omni VI+

I agree; keep using a radio as long as it meets your needs. For that
very reason, I kept the Corsair-II w/ ext VFO and PS all bought new as
part of my station, even when I bought the Paragon for MARS work for
Desert Storm (build up and until the units came back) and until the
third time I sent it back and my XYL suggested I get a new OMNI-VI+. I
ran the OMNI-VI+ ten years and three or four trips back to TT before
selling it to a OT who wanted it bad enough to pay top dollar, making
the purchase of the OMNI-VII with 300 and 500 Hz filters, and new
speaker/PS much easier.
My Corsair-II w/ ext VFO and PS have not made a trip to TT, as I've made
all the mods and repairs except for the display driver. I caused the
problem, then bought the parts, and had a YL electronic repair
specialist do the "fine" soldering work for me. I have the replacement
ROM and board for the one unobtainium part so I may be using the
Corsair-II as my last radio....
