Wow, not you were really a pioneer - running a remote station back in 1967! ;-)

Guys...good to hear Cousin Bruce is still on the air..use to listen to him on an old Pilot BC/Shortwave receiver with a 12 inch speaker hi hi I started out with a Knight Kit Star Roamer and DX20 to a inverted vee...moved up to a BW5100 and SX99...do remember the B&W5100 had low drive on 10 meters...what a bear....I have a picture of that set up on QRZ.COM
I had left for the Navy after graduation June 1967 ..Great Lakes for boot camp...came home after boot camp and had a "pink slip" from the FCC....TVI complaint from a neighbor.....dated at the time I was away....can't win hi hi 73's Bill N3WM

Used mine to listen to WABC, 770 kc, Cousin Bruce in NYC playing all the R 'n' R hits of the early 60's. Cousin Bruce is now on SiriusXM spinning the oldies on weekday evenings these days for a national audience!

I built a GR-91 too Duane. Yep, it was horrible, but I guess you get what you pay for. HI HI I used mine as an outboard BFO for the floor model Zenith.

OK, one more. When I started out as WN2HDS in 1963, I was using a Heath
GR-91 (terrible RX), and a built-from the Handbook 30W 6DQ6B oscillator.
QSO's were very few and far between. Worked all summer mowing lawns to purchase and build a Knight-Kit R-100A with Q-Multiplier and S-Meter. Now THAT was a receiver (compared to the Heath).... It didn't help that I ordered a 7175 kc 40m crystal - yep, right on top of Radio Moscow. Ouch!
