[TenTec] [Ten Tec] Centaur metering question and 811A's vs 572B's

I heard talk somewhere that some of the most-wanted audio toobs are once
again being made in the USA...someplace in the Southeast if I remember
correctly. I wonder what kind of prices they'd need to get to start making
811A's and 572B's and so on?

The correct answer was posted earlier.

In case you missed it:

There are lots of "rejects" floating around on the market.
Buyer Beware!

Especially if you see the name Svetlena on them... Svetlena quit making
these tubes quite some time back and you need to assume all the good ones
with that brand are gone. What's left are rejects which good companies like
RF-Parts returned and of course some of those tubes were put back onto the
market through other channels.

I strongly advise people not to look for bargains on tubes, regardless of
brand.
Buy the tubes from a reputable dealer like RF-Parts, DX-Engineering, or even
MFJ. That way you have someone reputable who will honor any warranty issues.

BTW, as Mike pointed out, he's the owner of this group, not me.
I own 3 other Ten-Tec groups but not this one.

Thanks Mike, although I wouldn't be surprised if RF Parts' tubes come out of
the same Chinese sweat shop.

Joe, I agree with buying 572B's from RF Parts. Have bought several matched
sets in the last few years from them and have never had a problem with any
of them.

Good luck, Mike K4KJC
