Hmmmm, the KX3 does indeed sound like a great portable radio, drawing so
little current on receive.
Too bad it draws so much current-cy from the bank account!  ;-)

Good info, Carl.  Thanks.  The K3 draws about 1.1A, the KX3 draws about 
150 mA.
