Tim,

Thanks for sharing your recent experience with Ten-Tec repair service.

I am a bit confused though. You wrote "I just had an Orion and Orion II
repaired both of which are on their way back to me." Further on in your post
you wrote " Orion had com port (RS-232 ) problem ( lightning damage) which
couldn't be resolved as it got to the Dragon Ball CPU ( no longer
available)". Of course it is beyond Ten-Tec's control if a part is no
longer available. So, as I read it, the Orion was repaired except for the
RS-232 port? Or do I misunderstand?

To me Jim Brown K9YC was making a comment on what I had written in my first
post " From my first e-mail until FedEx delivered the transceiver back to me
was only about 4 weeks. You may or may not consider that "fast", but I think
that was pretty quick." Jim was sharing info he had about turn-around times
for repairs from another transceiver manufacturer. In my view his comment
was relevant to the thread. Just my opinion.

Marsh, KA5M

I just had an Orion and Orion II repaired both of which are on their way
back to me. 1.5 weeks round trip. Orion had com port (RS-232 ) problem (
lightning damage) which couldn't be resolved as it got to the Dragon Ball
CPU ( no longer available) and a couple of other associated issue which I
wasn't aware of repaired. The Orion II had a com port problem and was
repaired without any other issues discovered. Also had batteries replaced
in both radios.

The cost was minimal with 1.5 hrs bench time for both. The phoncons were
very informative and cordial. I couldn't ask for any better communications
in this evolution. I gave the service department my heartfelt thanks and
encouraged them to keep at.

So the beat goes on...........

GD to all ,

obtw...I really don't care what Elecraft service is , does or has done as
it is irrelevant to this reflector IMHO
