Check internal to the radio and see if there are connectors and cable 
from the screen to an electronics circuit board.  With power off, unplug 
and replug to remove surface oxidation or dust which might be precluding 
good contacts of the pins and connector.

If you have the contact spray coating that everyone uses for connectors, 
spray some onto the pins of this connection.
