It’s been at leas eight years ago, but I’ve taken the front panel off of a scout to replace a faulty meter.

Yes, the knobs have to come off, there are mounting nuts under them

and you will need to unsolder the wires to the mic connector. Be sure you take photos or at least make a drawing of what wire goes where.

It’s a daunting task… good luck
