If the rig is not maintaining memories when the rig is off AND the power
supply is on, then the problems are beyond the battery question. It should
not even need a battery to retain memory in that situation, so something is
wrong elsewhere. Since you mention corrosion on the logic board, I'd look at
the schematics and trace where power comes from to keep the memory ICs
active and see where it is being interrupted. Good luck!

Yea, that's on the list, but, the issue at the moment is that regardless
(with
supply voltage on, rig off, fully charged backup battery) memories/etc are
not
retained if rig is powered off.

Yes; I see shack supply voltage levels on the 9V terminals. This seems to
be
whats expected (but somebody could confirm..) based on something I ran
across
somewhere. This rig should have the charging circuit. Even if it doesn't,
the
fact that battery backup stopped functioning is annoying, at best.
