Better understand why it happened to prevent it from happening again. Were
you using a power supply with no current limiting?

Changing the RF power transistors is not hard. You have to be very careful
when removing the old ones so that you do not lift the traces from the PC
board. You will need a solder sucker, a bunch of Solderwick and patience.
