According to my Original Paragon manual, the meter lamps are 6 V.  There 
is a voltage regulator type 7805 on the  Low Level Amplifier/Noise 
Blanker board.  See section 6-18 on page 6-69: "Regulated 6 Volts is 
supplied to the meter lamps through connector O."  I presume that Ten 
Tec used regulated voltage for the lamps to prevent them from flickering 
during keying (like the 12 V lamps on my Corsair do.

The venerable #47, rated at 3,000 hours,  would be the lamp of choice.  
However, the #755 is also 6V, draws the same current, but is rated at 
20,000 hours!
