[TenTec] Keying Loop / QSK Question

Hi Guys,

I have an Orion 1 with Keying Loop 1 that is not functional.  Keying loop 2 is ok. So, one option is I can use antenna 2 with keying loop 2.  I am using the Orion 1 with a Centurion.  If I connect the AMP KEY to the PTT jack on the Centurion, it still will work full QSK with the QSK/PTT switch in the PTT position.  According to the Orion manual, when using the amp key jack, RF is delayed by 15 ms, so I should be ok with relay time sequencing should't I?  Another friend has an FT-1000 he wants to use with a Centurion.  There is no keying loop, so one of the solutions is to use the ptt input.  Like the Orion, you can adjust it so the the RF does not appear for 15 ms, so I'm thinking it would work ok that way as well?  I just don't to fry the relays in the Centurion.
