The part number you found on your schematic is for the through hole device.

I need the SMD device.

Lest one might think one could sub in the through hole device, I tried that. It sorta works but pulls the voltage down too far on the emitter of the transistor (as well as on the base. 

The result is that the overall signal amplitude presented to the AGC line is insufficient to give an S meter reading.

I do need to find out what the correct SMD would be…

I have not yet been able to find a schematic for the very last Omni 6+ that used SMD’s. Even the manual that came with my radio shows the through hole parts.

Frustrating to say the least!
