A Triton will work fine on a battery.
You should insert a magnetic circuit breaker in the power cord so the PA transistors are protected. Airpac (?) had a 18 A breaker for that purpose and Ten Tec sold it. That circuit breaker provided the overcorrect protection that was inside the ten tec power supply.
