I have found that the internal tuner in my Eagle is not as good as my 
600 watt LDG tuner.  But, I still use my Ten Tec 238C tuner in 
preference to the LDG.  My trap vertical antenna is old and cranky, and 
at 100 watts of power, it tends to be somewhat erratic in regards to 
VSWR.  That drives the automatic tuners nuts, but the 238 C takes it in 
its stride.  Your Mileage May Vary...
