My digital read out has started to do several things. It intermittently freezes on one frequency and won’t respond to the PTO or the band switch. I turn the radio off and then back on and the display is completely dark except for the decimal. I let it sit for a day, then it came back on after it warmed up for a few seconds and worked fine for 3 more days, now it’s done the same thing again. 
	The manual says that I can damage the digital display with static electricity, so is it safe to take the case apart to look for dirty connections? Where should I look for the problems?  I have checked the VFO plug in the back and it looks ok.
