[TenTec] O-II Encoder Part?

A couple of points worth noting.
All of the currently available encoders today that meet similar
electrical and mechanical specifications seem to be those with detents
as opposed to the smooth rotating encoders of the original encoders. I
don't think I object to that personally but something to maybe be aware of.
Though not ideal the encoders can be disassembled if your vision and
tool kit are up to it. This allows removal of the detent function
followed by reassembly of the encoder. It can be done though there are
failure opportunities along the way.
Secondly watch out for the shaft length. I forget exactly but I think
only the versions with the longest shaft length (25mm?) can be used.
The lower resolution 15ppr is I think the same as the original and
better than the higher resolution 20ppr with which you will need to
crank the knob much more for the same effect.
Knob removal is by pulling off the silver collar and then undoing the
hex set screw. Board removal requires undoing all 6 of the plastic collars.
