Not only that, but be sure your antenna will handle the power as well.

If you employ a balun in the system, this another item which is often a 
weak point in the system.  I prefer baluns that are rated at least 5X 
the power I intend run.   Balun power is most often stated as operated 
in a "matched condition" which in most all cases where used, baluns are 
operated with a very high SWR and thus unmatched and therefore must be 
de-rated.

I have "smoked" several legal limit rated baluns when running less than 
1KW PEP.    All of my baluns today are rated at 5KW or more.  For true
