[TenTec] Orion tuning dial drag

The ring may have gotten lightly fused to the back of the knob.
I recommend you remove the knob and get a look at the copper tongues (with felt pads) and see if they have seized to the knob back.
The knob comes off by first removing the rubber ring, then with (in my case) a 5/64 Allen wrench. (I think some used a simple slot head screw.) Once you get it off it is pretty obvious how it works.

Subject: [TenTec] Orion tuning dial drag

Folks, I am trying to follow the instructions in the manual for adjusting
the tuning dial drag.  It says to grip the silver ring and hold it still
while turning the inner dial. But the inner dial seems stuck to the outer
silver ring, or I can't hold the silver ring still while trying to turn the
inner (black plastic) dial. Is there a trick to this? Thanks in advance for
any help.
