The N1MM recommended port setting for the Orion II are 57600, 8, N, 1 and DTR/RTS: handshake, handshake.  
What chip set is there in the usb/serial converter?  You want one with an FTDI chipset.

I have an O II that has worked great for years with DX4WIN.  I recently 
had to reload it and now i cant get it to work.  The same setup works 
with N1MM logger.  I'm using the same settings in both soft wares.

baud 57600

bits 8

stop bits 1

polling 5000

max tries 6

dtr on

  rts off

The Orion_x driver does not work at all while the Orion driver seems 
slow and will not change modes.  I'm using a serial to usb converter 
cable.  Anybody have any ideas?
