Ilkka, (and others)
I suggest that the SAC Contest Committee consists of the contest managers in
each of the organizing countries + one person from each country. This way we
secure some sort of continuity in the committee when contest managers come
and go. The 4 persons that are not contest managers should have vital roles
in the committee like,
1. Chairman (responsibilities ex. Answering Questions via email, holding
group together and see to that work is running according to timetable.)
2. Webmaster (responsibilities ex. Keeping website updated)
3. Log check manager (responsibilities ex. Keeping log checking going,
distributing workload between the 4 contest managers (+ others)
4. Awards manager (responsibilities ex. Sending out awards, and plaques)
The contest managers help in the group with log checking and are the voice
towards the homelands, if there for one instance is a need for rule changes,
the contest mangers in each country does surveys which are later summarized
in a democratic way by the whole 8 person group.
This is Scandinavian Activity Contest, and it is only fair towards those who
work us that we get together and work as a group. Make a Team effort. This
will also strengthen bands between our countries.
We should totally get rid of what country is the organizer; They are all
organizers together but it is the Contest Committee that shall be the host
and organizer.
I'm prepared to work in a constellation looking this way.

Hello again.
The discussion continues and I thank SM0W, SM2DMU, OH6XX and OH1RX
for good ideas.
The discussion is not vain if those who propose something will stay
ready for the execution / implementation of their proposals/ideas when it
comes to actual work. CCF for example has > 100 members, but 4-5 come
to the annual official meeting to decide upon the policies.
I think Teemu's idea of "a SAC Committee", which he and others have
prseented also earlier, and the very important issues (work with logs,
results, trophies) that would be addressed by such a committee are impor-
tant. I propose it not for 2008 but for 2007 when SAC is organized by
OHs. The "committee" would be a group of volunteers that would divide the
work load of the organizer. With digital logs, pdf-diplomas etc. it is
easy to divide the load. This "loose committee" would then be very
flexible, and would act should the organizing country (person-in-charge,
contest managers in LA, SM, OZ, OH) need HELP. If we in OH and SM take
over "an official SAC committee", I'm afraid that interest LA and OZ would
not be high and SAC would be "vår sak". I take it that Teemu can start
collecting "group members" very soon and maybe even help oz5wq. SAC is
organized by EDR, SRAl, SSA and NRRL.
SM2DMUs "SAC into BAC" question/proposal is such a big rule-change that
it would be the end of SAC and the birth of something else. Maybe we should
recognize that "Norden" with its values of 1950s-1970s no longer exits and
we should look for other webs-of-cooperation? Maybe DMU means this.
Some say that it is worthless to send a lot of e-mails on this rule-change
issue. Yes. But I think that god ideas on how to move on can only be found
by continuing the dicussion. I stress however, that those who participate
should stand ready when help for real work is needed.
