The  callsign (3YØE) was issued on 19 December. He has an Icom IC-735 and a Hustler 4-BTV vertical antenna, but limited HF experience. He was given a brief training session on operating procedures a couple of days prior to departure. The team expects to reach the island at the local sunrise on 9 February and to be QRV not earlier than the local night on the 11th. hey plan to set up seven stations on two widely separated locations, with one 26m-tall vertical for 160m, five 4-Squares (80, 40 and 30m), five vertical dipole arrays (20, 17, 15, 12 and 10m) and one 5-element Yagi for 6m. Actual QRT time will be dictated by weather and sea forecasts; if conditions are good, operations will end on 28 February. a team lead by N6OX would be going to Clipperton Island sometime in early March 2008, arriving on Clipperton around 4 March. Plans are to operate 12-14 days depending on conditions, with 100,000+ contacts as a goal. a German team is planning a DXpedition to Nouakchott, Mauritania. The current team of operators are: Rich/DK8YY, Rene/DL2JRM, Ralf/DL3JJ, Ingolf/DL4JS, Dan/DL5SE, DL2ARD and Andreas/DL7ZZ. They plan to have 3 stations on the air; 2 with amplifiers. For operations on the low bands 2 verticals (V160 and V80) will be errected, and on 40m they will use 2 phased verticals. For 30-10 meters, they will set up 2 beams, and for the digital station there will be another groundplane.
