18/9 – 27/9     SWAZILAND; 3DAØET 

by ZS6RJ and a Multi-International team of operators. Currently, 

operators mentioned are DL8JJ, K5LBU, VA7DX, VE7MID, ZS6BRZ and 

ZS6RJ. They plan to have 4 stations on the air, covering all the 

HF bands (160-10 meters) and 6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. 

There will be a focus on RTTY and they plan to have a dedicated 

full-time RTTY station on the air from start to finish. Roger, 

ZS6RJ, informs "We're also running an up-front survey (link on 

the home page) asking DXers what bands/modes etc. they need the 

most for Swaziland. We're going to use the information we get as 

a tool to focus our areas of concentration in our operating 

schedule once we're there and try to hit the 'most wanted' band 

slots per continent." Activity will also include the CQWW DX CW 

Contest (November 23-24th) as a Multi-two entry. Dick, N7RO, will 

be the QSL Manager for 3DA0ET. QSOs will be uploading daily to 

LoTW and ClubLog. They will not be using eQSL. More specific

element Quad on 6m. Participation in the CQWW DX RTTY Contest 

(September 28-29th) will be very limited due to his return flight

12/10 – 24/10 REPUBLIC OF CONGO; TN2MS 

planning by 4 Dutch radio amateurs. Operators mentioned are PA3A 

(CW/SSB), PA8AD (CW/SSB), PA3AN (SSB/RTTY) and PD1AEG. Activity 

will probably be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. The 

equipment consists of 3 transceivers and linears. The antennas 

are verticals for 160-30m and beams for 20-10m. For 160m and 80m 

extra receiving antennas will be used to improve station 

reception capability. If conditions allow it and permission is 

received, they will try to activate 6m. They take special care to 

listen for remote locations and small stations. The goal of the 

team is to work as many different stations as possible in the 

different modes. All donations and surplus from the QSL will be 

transferred to the Mercy Ships Charity Project. QSL via PA3AWW,

Single-Op/ All-Band entry while the others operate outside the

by a team who will be finalized sometime next month after 

everyone over on the EU side is back from their holidays. The 

aims of the Dxpedition are:

* To participate in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 23-24th) as 

a Multi-2 category contestant.

* To give as many folk as possible a new entity or band/mode 

slot, providing CW, RTTY and SSB.

* To address the often-neglected need for digital modes via a 

full time dedicated RTTY/PSK station running from the start for 

the entire duration of the DXpedition.

* To operate 160 meters through 6 meters.

* Equipment: Rigs - 2X Kenwood TS-590's, 1X Yaesu FTDX3000D, & 1 

or 2X Elecraft K3's Linears - 4X Expert (3X 1K and 1X 2K FA's) 

linear amplifiers, sponsored by Expert Amps USA. Antennas - 3X 

KIO Hexagonal Beams, 1X 75 foot vertical for 160, 80 and 40 

meters TX, 1X 2 element 30 meter wire beam, 1X 160/80 meter RX 

antenna with preamp.

- They will be using ClubLog for band-slot chasers and for online

Jan/Feb 2014  AMSTERDAM & ST. PAUL IS.; FT5ZM 

a international team of 14 experienced DXpedition operators, led 

by K0IR, will depart from Fremantle, Australia, in early January 

of 2014. Their destination will be Amsterdam Island (FT5Z). The 

team has been granted an 18 day access to the island to occur 

between the dates of January 15th and February 20th of 2014.

Once ashore, the team will move to two station positions assigned 

by TAAF. The two locations are about 2 kilometers apart. Each 

location will allow a full complement of antennas. The separation 

will allow simultaneous CW/RTTY and SSB transmission on the open 

bands. The group plans on eight stations; four at each location. 

Elecraft K3's, a full complement of antennas, and 500 watt and 

1.5 KW amplifiers will be the backbone of the station 

configurations. The operators are well known in the DXing and 

contesting world and include: 9V1YC, EY8MM, FM5CD, HK1R, K4UEE, 

K9CT, LA6VM, N4GRN, N6HC, VE3EJ, VE7CT, W6IZT, WB9Z, and yours
