TopBand: Stew Perry contest rules - problem...

Hello,

I am preparing for the Stew Perry Topband Distance Challenge on
28./29.December 1996 and found one problem about calculating the distance. 
Is the basis for the distance calculation my real locator JO41GV or the
center of my square JO41MM ? Have I to add always MM to the locators of the
other station? (small fields)
For example:

>From JO41 to JN45:  JO41GV to JN45MM ?  Or JO41MM to JN45MM ?
Or something else ?
