TIP:

Another source of "garbage" on strong received signals is the noise
blanker. Since many topbanders have their noise blankers turned on to
reduce local noise (power lines, fences etc) it easy to forget after
awhile that it is turned on. So if your getting blown away with adjacent
signal keyclicks etc, try adjusting your noise blanker or turning it
off.
