TopBand: V5 Operation Details

The following from the OPDX Bulletin explains the fantastic signal the
guys put out from their V5 operation.  A dipole up 1/2 wavelengths 
works well on any band...it's just too bad it is out of reach for most
of us on 160!

V5/ZS6YG OPERATION.  Operators from Colorado -- KV0Q, W0YG. WB0HBS and
W8UVZ should be QRT by the time you read this.  As of Thursday last week,
the team passed out about 700 QSOs on 160 meters.  The team has reported
that contacts were difficult due to area storms which caused static and
high winds. They were using an inverted vee on 160m with apex at 260 feet
using 60 ft mast on top of 200 ft high lighthouse on the Atlantic coast.
