Well once again 160 proves to an unpredictable mistress out here behind the
auroral donut in the Pacific North West (PNW). D44BC was booming in an
honest S7 on 1840 SSB @05:25Z for only my second african in 3 years. The
only europeans heard here all night were SM5EDX, G3SED and ON4UN. Later in
a fit of insomnia worked ZK1DI on 1828 @10:00Z, followed shortly by KP2J
(which is darn good DX from WA!).

The real treat was awaking to find XV7SW on 1827 QSX 1825 and very workable
at 14:40Z for number 180!! UN5J and UN7JID were both back on 1833 from
14:45 to 15:25 but very weak compared to yesterday. RW0LL was his usual
good signal this time on 1829.4. Also heard UA9UA? but he was not hearing
as well as he transmitted. While conditions were spotty they were at least
rewarding and varied.

CU in the pile ups for VK0IR
