TopBand: Last Night and Turnabout

Hey, wait a minute: it's the W6/W7 stations that are supposed to be
frustrated by East Coast/Midwestern stations during EU openings!

Last night was an odd one: spent the entirety of two days working on the
inverted-L (now 4 elevated radials and over 50 100-foot radials
on-ground), and then spent 2 hours trying to get LA9GX to answer me.
Meanwhile, every K7 or N6 that called him was getting good reports!

I worked a few EU stations, but it was like pulling teeth.

OTOH, VK6HD answered on my first call through a large pile this morning at
1107Z. 

I LOVE this band!
