        Well I heard OK1AWZ about 549, but with the oddest aurora sound
starting around 0240Z. Heard several USA either calling G3FPQ or talking
about him, but nil here. Only EU sig was OK1AWZ. Very spotty. Saw a spot for
ZS4TX and tuned up, but then saw he QSY to 7007. There he was 20 dB over S-9
with his 2-el at 40m! I see the WWV K-index is 6....

        BTW, though I was planning a new antenna on 160 and some serious
attention to the band this season, I have taken a new job and will be forced
to QRT without any of the plans seeing fruition. I'll be moving to the
Phoenix area, and would very much enjoy hearing from any Topband DXers (or
"normal" DXers, hihi) who might be in the area. I was there last weekend;
checked into 3 local packet clusters and the K5VT repeater from my mobile,
but was unable to QSO anyone there. Have the CC&Rs slain all the topband
antenna farms there?
