     Hi Chris, et al.

It sounds like you are off and running. If you have a basement, I
would consider running radials through the house stapled to the floor
     joists.

On of the locals has a basement with ceiling tile over most of the
area. He inserted bare wire between the ceiling tile joints and tied
them all together with a "buss bar" on the wall nearest the shunt fed
tower, and ran about 4 wires through basement window frames to tie the
inside wires to the radial system.

Another ham I knew had a "suspended ceiling" with metal grid and lay
in acoustical tiles. He took the tiles out and bonded the grid
elements to each other. Then he tied the whole thing to a tower maybe
20 feet outside the house with some "short radials" and reset the
     ceiling tiles.

     Good luck, George K8GG

Hi,

I received 10 responses regarding the lengths and type of radials I
should use for my 80/160 shunt fed tower. I ended up not using chicken
wire and using as much wire I could find in the junk box, ran random
lengths all around the backyard, and even around the house into the
front yard.

Many thanks to the following for responding to my question: W5PS, W1JCC,
KI0G, K1HTV, W4WH, K6SE, KF4HK, N6DX, K1ZG, and K1FK.

If anyone would like a copy of all the responses I received, e-mail me
directly and I'll put them together and e-mail them to you.

73,

Chris VE3FU / VO2AC
