A few of us out East US - NYC area have noticed propagation seems enhanced on
160 and 80 when the A index is HIGHER than 5 or so - up to 15 and especially
on the sub-auroral paths ie to JA from NY but also to VK short path.
We are also totally confused by the solar flux numbers vs real-time band
performance and have not been able to draw any direct relationships EXCEPT
for the (perhaps anecdotal) enhancement with geomagnetic is higher, not lower
within the limits recited above.
Any explanations?
