TopBand: New FO coountries by W6RJ, etc.

April 10, 1998

On April 13, 1998 (evening) W6RJ/FO0FI and W6KR/FO0FR will commence
operation as FO0FI from the Austral Island group on the island of
Rurutu.  The operation will continue until the morning of the 20th.  All
bands, cw and ssb. Equipment is a 30' high FORCE 12 C3S and a Titinex
V80 vertical for 160 through 40 meters. Power is 500W output.

On April 21st (evening) through April 28th (morning) a second operation
is planned from the Marquesas Island group on Nukuhiva Island with the
call FO0FR.

These two island groups meet all requirements for new country status
effective April 1, 1998.

Normal dx frequencies will be used. Qsl via K6SLO

This operation will conincide with FO0MIZ by Kan, JA1BK who will operate
from the same islands but with a small vaience in dates.
