TopBand: Torrid Torroids Questions

Dear friends,

I have no ready source for torroid cores here.

Will the type of cores typically found in PC computer switching supplies
work?

I also have some scrap XT mother boards with torroid on them.  What might I
look
for to identify something that might work?

I have the MFJ 259 with the GDO adapters.  Can this be used in some way to
test
the cores for feasability?
