TopBand: Grid scoring in STEW

Here's how I treated the two stations in my log who did not know their grid
square (one JA, 1 VE7 - about 20 points not counted): During the QSO, I
entered my own grid, so TRLog would score 1 point, then later edited the
log in POST entering NONE in place of the grid. This is my interpretation
of the rule segment, "Count a minimum of one point per QSO and an
additional point for every 500 kilometers distance."

With the marginal conditions, I did not want to take the time to get QTH
info and look up their grid square in my chart/SW. If I had done that, I
would have entered the grid in the log and told the stations their grid.
So, I agree with W8JI's interpretation, since he supplied the grid during
the QSO, not after the contest.

Maybe Tree will comment on the subject while it's a current topic. Also
maybe he could arrange for better propagation in the '99 event!

Looks like the QRP guys will have the top scores this time - good move.
Power class is the major strategy decision to make in this event,
regardless of condx. CU in CQWW 160, QRO!
