Topband: CF Antenna

I have been listening to the discussions on this antenna both here,
and in the ongoing discussions at the AntenneX website. I have my doubts
about the antenna, but have enjoyed listening to the religious
wars that seem to break out any time the subject comes up. ;-)
In the interest of fairness to both sides, I thought I would post the
response to the charges that were also posted
to the Antennex discussion site by the author of the articles himself.

(P.S. In the interest of fairness, I AM forwarding Brian's post...
however, this will be the LAST post on this topic until something
definitive appears from the NAB meeting. I don't intend to have this
reflector turned into a public forum for name-calling by either side.

Jack - this guy is a real LuLu. Because of his loud mouth and trying to put
me down, he resigned in disgrace - and with everyone clapping - from both
the Atlanta Ham Club and the local DX association. All of this occured when
I gave a brief resume to the President of the Atlanta Ham Club in
preparation for presenting a talk on antennas at the Ham Convention last
year.

I have no desire to communicate with him - but ask him this question - If
the Crossed Field Antenna is a hoax, then why do they work so well and why
are the inventors going to present this concept at the National Association
of Broadcasters this spring. Do you really feel this is an April fool joke?

If you want to take it one step further, ask him if he is willing to bet
$500 that a standard commercial 1/4 wavelength broadcast tower for AM
broadcasting will outperform a CFA. Add to that - What criteria would you
consider as proof? - - - - - -I would be happy to cover the bet.

Bottom line is this - I made a fool of him in Atlanta - He has twisted
things around - I did say I invented the Noise Bridge - even showed a copy
of the patent on the Antenna Noise Bridge to the club - and the book I wrote
on Loop antennas - by the way, I never claimed I invented the loop - just
wrote the book - and negotiated with MFJ to publish them before MFJ came out
with the loop - also - MFJ copied the design of the Antenna Ohm Meter and
called it the antenna resistance meter - he claims he designed the loop and
the resistance meter for MFJ - he probably did help put it into production -
- Rich can verify all this -

Isn't it funny that the more he talks the bigger the hole he digs for
himself?

Jack - PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE publish his note and say that you are
posting it as a classic example of the "other view point". Then state that
at a point in the future this viewpoint will be reviewed to determine which
"viewpoint" was proven by time and events.

Thanks, Ted
