>From The Daily DX (for any who missed T30R and T33RD):
The members of the planned German DXpedition to West Kiribati and
Banaba (see Vol. 3 No. 34) have released more details. The group,
Berlin DX Group, will leave Germany on 15 October and arrive in West
Kiribati on 19 October. Licenses have not been assigned as of yet
and they plan to have one on SSB and the other on CW/RTTY. Look for
them to be active on all bands. Operators include Tom, DJ6TF; Wolf,
DL2NWK; Tom, DL2RUM; Tom, DL7BO; Sigi, DL7DF; Frank, DL7UFR; Rudi,
DL7VFR; Marianne (YL) DD6UYL. They will have six (6) rigs and four
(4) amplifiers and plan to have three (3) stations on the air around
the clock. For antennas they will use beams on 10 through 20 meters
and verticals on 30 through 160 meters. Plans are to have logs and
news during the operation on the Internet. About one week into the
operation four of the operators will go on to Banaba (T33) with half
of the equipment. The boat ride will take 2 ½ days to get there and
they should be active from 28 October to 2 November. Two complete
stations will be set up with one low power station. All of the
operators will leave West Kiribati on 11 November. More news will
follow.
